Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 29, 2026

Call Your Mom is designed to help you remember to call home. We do not collect or transmit any personal information. The app works entirely on your device.

This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data, how permissions are used, and how SMS reminders work.

Information we collect

We do not collect any information.

Information we do not collect

  • No account or profile is required.
  • We do not collect, sell, or share personal data with third parties.
  • We do not upload your contacts, messages, or call history to our servers.
  • No analytics, tracking, or advertising identifiers are collected.

Information stored on your device

  • The contact you select (name and phone number).
  • Check-in history and timestamps (last five check-ins).
  • Reminder state to ensure notifications and SMS are not duplicated.

Your data is yours. It is stored securely on your device within the app and is not transferred or stored anywhere else.

You can delete this data at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.

Permissions

  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS is used to show reminders.
  • READ_CONTACTS is used only to let you pick a contact on your device.
  • CALL_PHONE is used to place a call when you tap the call button.
  • SEND_SMS is used to send an automatic text update if you miss a check-in for 48 hours.
  • RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED is used to restore reminders after a device restart.

Permission requests are shown during setup or when you take an action that needs them. You can manage permissions from your device settings.

Automatic SMS message

If you are 48+ hours overdue and do not check in, the app sends a brief SMS update to your selected contact.

The SMS is sent from your device and uses your carrier's messaging service. Your mobile carrier's messaging or data rates may apply.

The app does not store SMS content on servers and does not send messages to any other recipients.

Data retention

We do not collect or retain data. Any app settings stay on your device until you remove them.

Security

We take reasonable steps to keep the app secure. Because data is stored locally, your device security settings help protect your information.

International transfers

We do not transfer or store your data outside your device.

Children's privacy

Call Your Mom is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes, we will update this page with a new effective date.
